The Palmer - a handheld fly-tying vice designed and manufactured by Robin Falck in Finland. Wherever you are, with the Palmer you are ready to tie your flies. How the Palmer works:
- Place the long axis of the Palmer along the bottom of your fingers so that the jaws cover your index finger. Close your middle, ring and pinky fingers. Now you are ready to tie. You can use your thumb and index finger to hold the material while tying.
- Adjust the front screw clockwise so that the hook is firmly fixed in the jaws.
- Complete the hook fastening by adjusting the rear screw clockwise until the hook is firmly locked in place.
- When you want to take a break or put the Palmer down to prepare the material, simply wrap around the spring at the bottom to keep tension on the thread. To continue tying, simply rewind.
