Terenzio Sandri is building silk lines for more than twenty years. The effort and the attention Terenzio gave to this product for many years, introducing modifications constantly, finally resulted in an astonishing longevity – up to twenty years and more –, a soft structure and above all a perfect floating capability. These characteristics of silk lines outweigh the initial investment, which is higher than for synthetic lines.

Compared to synthetic lines, silk lines of the same class are thinner, which means less air resistance. Another great attribute of silk is its versatility. It can function as the equivalent of three synthetic lines. These lines can be dressed on their entire length to provide a full floating line. Or, they can be partially dressed to function as a sink tip or left ungreased to function as an intermediate sinking line. Last but not least silk lines have no memory effect.

Terenzio says: The silk does not have to be forced during a cast, but accompanied instead.

The silk lines with a length of 25 meters - other lengths upon request - are packaged in a very pleasing box along with two tapered silk leaders, a generous container of grease and a parchment scroll with information about the line. Both line and leader come with integral loops so you can make a quick loop to loop connection. At the end of the leader is another loop to attach your tippet.

Each silk line is built with a double taper, and is coded according to AFTMA. A wide range of classes is offered: 00- 0 - 1 - 1 ½ - 2 - 2 ½ - 3 - 3 ½ - 4 - 4 ½ - 5 - 5 ½ - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 and 11.

Each customer will receive a silk line with an individual code by which the production date can be traced, which Terenzio keeps in his books.
